  • Spread Spectrum (SS) Radio Communications to support Schweitzer Enginneering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL) Substation Relay to Relay Directional Comparison Blocking (DCB) Schemes consisting of:
    • Alternative communication media, implementing SEL Mirrored Bits technology for protection, control, & monitoring, desired to Dedicated Optical Fiber due to distances and economics involved with substation to substation relay logistics
  • Amato Consulting Support Services & Project Status -
    • 2004 & 2005 - Prepared & Completed both Physical and Paper Path Surveys to support viability of both Microwave Data Systems (MDS) & FreeWave SS Radio communications between substation relays 
    • 1st Qtr 2006 - Successful testing, in conjunction with SEL, with various models of SEL relays utilizing the selected MDS SS TransNET 900 radios with Mirrored Bits Firmware.
    • June 2006 - Office & Field Testing & Training, in conjunction with 3rd Party Relaying Consultant, for Coop & Area Electric Utility personnel, along with Successful Start Up of 4 substations utilizing SS Radios to implement Mirrored Bit Technology for DCB Schemes between SEL Relays
    • 2009 - Completed Project Deployment Responsibilities
